About Us

We are a locally owned and operated roofing company servicing Jonesboro, Paragould and all of Northeast Arkansas.

How We Came To Be

Our Story

We are a local, licensed, insured and independently owned roofing company. This company was started based on what I felt was a very simple and basic need in our community. I wanted to provide great work along with great customer service. It was just that simple. I wanted to be the company that handled contracting with the same type of customer service that all great companies do. I wanted to be the company that returned your call, showed up when we said we would and on time. In short I wanted to treat our customers the way I expect to be treated when I spend my hard earned money. I was blessed and fortunate enough that the company began to grow very quickly. Most of our referrals were word of mouth and it remains that way today. I was also blessed and fortunate that I was able to bring aboard a couple of key people that shared those same values and that treat this company like it is their own and represent it as such.

Brian Bastel

My name is Brian Bastel and I am the owner of MidSouth Roof Consultants. I got my start in the industry in 2001 as an insurance adjuster for State Farm. After 3 years with State Farm I opened a full service fire & water restoration company that I operated for 5 years before selling it. During that time we performed dry out and fire cleanup and all of the resulting interior and exterior repairs. After selling the company I went back into the insurance world and adjusted claims for Nationwide insurance which I did until starting this business 5 years ago. I am a HAAG certified roof inspector, a licensed independent adjuster, and I have worked as an appraiser representing insurance companies when they are confronted with unfair and or unreasonable bids from contractors. We frequently inspect roofs on behalf of insurance companies when they are too steep or too high for their adjusters to inspect. So we have developed a reputation with many insurance companies as being knowledgeable, fair and honest, which helps us better represent our customers when we disagree with their adjuster’s findings.

Matt Myrick

My name is Matt Myrick and I’m an Operations Manager with MidSouth Roof Consultants for the last 2 years. I began in the building industry in 2003. I started off building spec houses in Maumelle, AR, starting them from the ground up. After the housing market crashed in 2008, I continued to build an occasional spec house but I also began helping build the oil refinery plant in Beebe, AR. After construction was completed, I started there as a supervisor and quickly worked my way up to Operations Shift Manager for the next 10 years. Our primary purpose at the facility was to turn the fracking drilling mud into reusable diesel fuel. After the drilling in Arkansas came to an abrupt stop, I started a new career with Sage Five Foods in Little Rock, AR, as a Shift Manager overseeing 30-40 employees per shift. Our primary purpose at the facility was to take milled rice and cook it to many flavors and package it in microwaveable pouches. At that facility, I helped facilitate a 6 million dollar expansion of the facility, that enabled the facility to nearly double production. My wife and I then decided that it was time to go back to my home town to raise our 2 boys and begin working with my life long best friend. My wife and I are now enjoying the country life of NEA that I grew up in and love so much. I started off at MidSouth Roof Consultants as a Project Manager and have worked my way up to the operations manager in 2 years. What I like the most about working at MidSouth Roof Consultants is being able to help my community and my surrounding communities in times of need. We have the privilege of working with some truly great people through some difficult times and being able to help make those difficult times easier, making this job extremely rewarding!

John Morris

My name is John Morris, and I am the Regional Manager for MidSouth Roof Consultants. I am a HAAG Certified Inspector and a Licensed Independent Insurance Adjuster. I began working with MidSouth Roof Consultants in early 2018 and have had the opportunity to watch this company grow. I grew up here in Jonesboro and I am proud to still call this area home as well as raise my 2 wonderful daughters here. Before I began work here at MidSouth Roof consultants, I worked at a variety of jobs outside of the construction industry that required exceptional customer service. When I came over to Midsouth Roof Consultants I had a limited knowledge of both the roofing and insurance industries. Since that time, I’ve trained with the most knowledgeable roof inspectors around, worked with local staff adjusters as well as structural engineers and obtained the highest roofing inspector certificate that is available. Since coming aboard, I have been competent to work everything from small residential wind and hail claims to complex large loss commercial claims. I have been able to gain extensive knowledge in both the roofing and insurance industries, and more importantly, I have been able to combine this knowledge with my customer service experience and skills to provide the best experience for our customers! Since starting here at MidSouth Roof Consultants I have progressed from being a project manager to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. I am also trusted to inspect steep and tall roofs for multiple insurance companies in the area which gives me the unique advantage to advise our customers on any potential storm damage that may need to be brought to your insurance company’s attention. I am thankful to be a valuable part of this company and to have the opportunity to work with my friends Brian Bastel and Matt Myrick. More importantly, I am happy to be able to help educate our customers and to provide them with quality work and timely customer service as well as to provide them with a voice they may not have when it comes to making sure insurance companies cover any potential storm damage. Being able to help our community through times like the Jonesboro tornado, and building relationships through our daily encounters with our customers is what makes doing this job so rewarding. I am here to educate our customers and provide quality and timely service to all of our customers. Whether that is assisting you through the insurance claim process or through a complete tear off and replacement of your roof, I will be there to help every step of the way!
